Hockey tape will work in a pinch but just get John Otto or Rocket City racing etc to send you some . In a pinch there's always duct tape !!

What are you cleaning the area with? We use mineral spirits (paint thinner) to clean the tape residue off and then clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Most any tape will stick after this process, even black electrical.

Are you 100% sure it's the tape that is making the radio box leak? Is this after the boat flip or running on top of the water? Could be many things causing it to leak... I have had great luck with the 3M tape

3M tape is best. I clean mine with denatured alcohol.

I use Endura paint so Acetone or Lacquer thinner works to clean and 3M radio box tape. Check the seals.
