Some more RC boat info from the land of the rising sun.

If you think RC boating is just racing, well you are wrong.

Check this URL out. This is becoming really popular over here. I have tried it. It is pretty amazing.

First of all, check out the URL. I will go ahead and interpret in a summerized form for you, so you can get the picture a little clearer. ;D

Here they are using a Tug Boat 60. I think it is made by Saito. It has a Gasoline Engine in it. If you look at the bottom of the page, you will see the basic set up, for the tackle. The fish being caught in the picture is a Sea Bass. When I tried it, it was with a different type of boat, and we were going after Black Bass, that the Japanese government imported from Florida about 10 years ago.

This boat has a spring release controlled by a seperate channel, that will whip the pole up if a bass strikes. When the hook is set, you drag the fish to the dock, remove the pole from the boats pole mount, and real it in. This set up has brought in Sea Bass up to 70cm long with no problem. I don't know if any of you have ever been Sea Bass fishing, but a 70 cm long Sea Bass can put up a nasty fight.

Tom was telling me in my other forum, that he was getting his fishing boat ready. That reminded me of this subject. Anyway, Happy fishing ;)

I just hope that Tom drives the fishing boat better than the riggers, Have not razzed ya in a while Tom ;D

After doing a little more research, I will have to clear up on a misassuption. This boat on this URL is not made by Saito, It is made by US Yacht Company. It doesn't run with gasoline, either. It is electric. It costs about 1600 dollars. This price includes everything. Even the custom made pole and reel. Sorry about misleading you.

The boat I fished with was gasoline, so I just assumed that this one was, too. Sorry ;D
