*******LOOK AT POST 137 as there is a CHANGE*******

So here is the Skinny, The Racers Group proudly Presents the 2018 Nitro Nationals in Mt Vernon, IL July 11-July 15th. Thank you to our Title Sponsor NOVAROSSI MARINE USA and all of sponsors to help support this Race! Race entries will be taken on http://www.racemastersevents.com/ opening January 2nd 2018 6PM and will stop taking entries June 10th 2018 @ 6PM central . This event will be driven on The Racers Group Motto of Brotherhood and Fun! After 225 boats we will fill classes as needed as we have had a lot of inquiries about this race. 8 boats will make a class, and if you have an 1/8 scale or a Sport 40 you better pack a lunch because this has the potential be one of the biggest turnouts in those classes compared to what it has been in a long time.
Attached below is the Flyer for the event that will explain housing, addresses, and events. Mt Vernon Site is plenty big for all size RC boats, and will be able to pit out of your trailer lakeside and RVs are welcomed. This event will be running the Format1 which is the Shootout format where your points carry and the 5th round will be top 6 boats of each class to determine the winner of each class. Sunday July 15th is only for a Rain day but hopefully will be a travel day.
Very Excited to announce Ron Zaker JR, Ron Shaw, Mike Betke, and Stu Barr has committed to put on some Tech Sessions for this race! Dates, times, and Topics will be announced when we are closer to race dates. Thank you for committing to this.
We are very Honored, Excited and Proud to Partner up with (MTJ) Martin Truex JR and Sherry to Donate all proceeds raised from this race to to the Martin Truex JR Foundation. We will have items to auction/raffle off and again more information will be presented as we get closer to the dates of this amazing event. FYI MTJ this lake is at an airport so when you are racing in Kentucky at the Quaker State 400 you can drop by if you would like J
Thank you in Advance to everyone that participates in this race and the wonderful individuals that have come forward to donate their help to put this race on.

What are Tech Sessions?
Sam, this is where they will have a topic to share their experiences on a certain topic such as Head Clearance, Sealing a boat, Etc. We are still working on what time, day, and Topics. All will be announced when we are closer to race dates. If you look in the latest Roostertail page 34 Betke did a nice write up about head clearance. Very similar to this but in person.

Brad, you folks consider having a SINGLE F HYDRO CLASS ? Since it is not International Regatta format you are not be constrained by that format. Thanks

I would like to thank Mike and Brad for getting this together. I was getting concerned that we might not have something next year and these guys came thru.

This should be the big nitro race for the summer.

that sounds like an incredibly good idea.

Sounds like a fun event. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend due to lack of vacation time

I love the fact that you have on site dry camping. That brings up TWO QUESTIONS:

1) Is there a place to dump tanks if needed on or close to the site?

2) Is there water available on site to refill if needed?

Just because I can't go doesn't mean others won't be asking the same questions

Thanks guys

Doc we did consider it,if enough interest is there we can add it......
Thanks , How about listing it on Race Masters when you post the race. That way you can see if there is interest

I will predict there will be interest.
