Thinking of trying some vinyl wrap instead of paint to save some weight on my next project.

Anyone tried this? I see 3m if prolly the bet.

Good/ Bad? Ugly?

I have used it on a number of projects. Takes a little (not too much) practice.

The three big names are 3M, Avery and Oracal.

Small quantity orders can be obtained from here:

Mark and Chad Grannis have been doing this for a long time. Mark can shed some light on this for you.

Thanks guys, saw that Metro Styling site, thanks.

Gonna get some 3m neon yellow to wrap my new SAW sponsons, 1oz of paint per just don't cut it anymore!

The colour really helps when it's getin' dark and you're making those last passes...

It even comes in Carbon Fiber patterns. I just did the lower 1/4 panels on a Toyota FJ with it. The thing you have to be careful of is any seams below the deck that will have contact with water. Water at high speed can peel it back.
