"Heads -Up" Drove down to the mold maker today !!! ---- Well, it was just before the holidays, When I got back to finishing-up the 1989 Lobster Hull for the Gas Nationational, and in looking to fit the cowl on the hull, I have decided to redo the plug into a three piece unit. Why!!! Well, the cowl is about 40" long and got to thinking about how is someone going to handle such a long cowl in a race situation? Now the plugs are made and they look awesome.

The Turbine Tube Cover and front Windshield Canopy will be installed first and left on.The Engine Scoop will be installed last with O-Rings hold downs, "Scoop" only being removable to start the Engine.

At the same time I made a plug for the Turbine Tube, baloney slicing the end and a small curve at the bottom 3/4 of the way from the front to fit on the top of the rear hatch. The Turbine Tube is bolted to the to the hatch and the complete unit will be totally removable via three 4/40 bolts without having to remove the Tune Pipe or bracket. "Oops" plus two bolts for the wing stab supports. The Tube will be covered with Silver Mylar

Sorry !!! I have been pressing to get the three plug made working two solid weeks on them over the holidays. Will take pics as soon as every thing is back from the "New Glass Guy". In the meantime I'll be sealing the wood and getting it ready for paint. Stay Tune for more info. Pic's posted is of the old cowl.
