I was wondering if I had to buy prop nuts at the hobby shop or just any ol' hardware store? I guess I should ask, do they need to have that little lip on the back of them like a built in washer?

YOU CAN GO TO ANY HARDWARE STORE BUT TAKE THE SHAFT WITH YOU TO MATCH UP THE THREAD SIZE.MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE NUTS WITH THE NYLON INSERTS INSIDE TO PREVENT THEM FROM BACKING OFF UNDER LOAD

THE BEST ONES ARE THE NUTS THAT ARE CRUNCHED, THEY DON'T HAVE NYLOCK AND THE NYLON WILL WEAR OUT. TRUST ME LOST TO MANY PROPS THAT WAY....

TRY SPEEDMASTER, OR MAYBE GARRY PRUSSE

I've been using the Prather prop nuts for years and haven't lost one while running yet. I put a small piece of large silicone fuel tubing between the prop and nut that works like a lock washer. If you can use a long enough piece, it also may be used as a shock absorber in case your prop hits any debris in the water.
