I have a .21 Diamondback Rigger from Billy Gomillion and was wondering if anyone had instructions for this hull.

Let me know and thanks,

What version of the diamondback do you have? I have some instructions for the last style he built called the gt21 which had a "banana" curve to the bottom of the tub.

I don't have the boat in hand. have it at a friends house. Pull it down again and start working on it but lost the instructions somewhere along the way. But the GT21 sounds familiar.

Anyway I can get you to send me what you have? E-mail is Hollandframe @aol.com or I can get you my address.

Thanks,

This is what I got from Billy G when I bought mine.

Obviously all setup is done on a flat table.

First set the boat on the table without the rear sponsons attached. Then set the strut flat on the table with the back edge of the transom .803" high off the table. (I think this measurement is .75" if the boat is flat on the bottom)

Now move to the front sponsons and adjust angle to 3.0-3.3 with the right sponson slightly lower than the left.

Attach the rear sponsons so they touch the table and set the rear angle to 1.5-1.8 degrees.

Now you can set the strut angle, set it to .08 degrees down angle and flush with the rear sponsons.

Set the turnfin so the trailing edge is 1/4"-3/4" in front of the boats balance point. ( I would set it closer to 1/4" as too far forward made the boat very twitchy)

Sponsons are centered and square to the tub with no toe in.

Props- 1445, 1450, h4, h5, h7

Also prop weight should be 15%-18% of boat weight.

Hope this helps!

Andrew,

Are you sure the left sponson doesn't have less angle of attack?

The right side should be just a little higher than the left on most

of those boats. The Diamondback GT-21 ran very well back in the day.

The different sponson angle of attack helps with the propeller walking

the tub to the right.

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund

Mark,

Oops! My bad, I wrote it wrong. The right side is higher than the left.
