The German SAW event is happening starting today in Munich! I don't know where there are any direct feeds of information, but HPR Powerboats, and others, are posting info on Facebook. I'll try to update this thread as I see more information.

I know that Tyler Garrard is in attendance, running a new Q-Hydro that Brian Buaas build for him and that Tyler powered up! (Brian's hull, Tyler's electronics!). He, and two others there, I believe including Joerg, are all going after the Overall record! Should be interesting!!

The event is held at the Olympic Rowing facility in Munich Germany.

Here is the video from last years event:

Way to go Joerg! Impressive as always, and it's just day one.

Tyler won't be running until tomorrow. He was over there on a business trip that required his attention today.

Copy of a facebook post of the German SAW event 9/23/2016. It may not be as good of quality but at least you can see the run without having a FB account.

Hey Don,

Yeah I was able to run although I suffered through some teething problems with the new 6 cell combo. I managed a 126mph run with an Octura X series as none of the "game changers" were working like they normally do on the older wood boats.

Never the less, a fun time at an amazing site. I would have brought the Ole Card Table over to celebrate, but feared customs would seize it. Here is a group shot. SAWMUC2016_001.jpg The weather was just like Legg lake, perfect conditions in the morning and late afternoon with wind in the middle of the day.

Hi Tyler ,

nice to have you in Munich and i can't wait to wellcome moore US speedboater next year.

@Allan ,

lets do some calculation as we know Jörg used a 2260/5 Lehner Motor . The motor turns 1973 rpm per volt at best efficancy. Best efficancy will be at about 280 amps load . With 8 cell we can have about 56800 rpm . Maybee we have to play with the timing to reach that speed. But with the top mesured speed of 289 km/h a 42mm propeller with a pitchfactor of 2,4 that has 3,94" pitch or 100 mm ( a 45 mm dia propeller will have only a 2,2 pitchfactor to have the 3,94 " pitch, will do the job. At 28,8 Volt and 280 amps we have about 8000 watt of power ,so a 60 C batterie is needed . About waight : Motor has 660 g , batterie lets say 1100g and the esc say 280 g plus some radio and carbon for the hull . So you have to design a hull that will carry 3000 g like a gator so i think all will waight in the 3500 to 4000 g range . Maybe this is wrong but you have some input to start to build a boat for next year visite to Munich .

Start tomorrow as you will need some testing and setup weeks / month . And don't use a flexcable at this speed , makes no sense in my eyes.

Happy Amps Christian
