i need to upgrade.things have changed since i ran 20yrs ago

have a futaba magnum and dont like it(for sale), rather 2 sticks.

also multi boat friendly

thanks

OK, biased opinion here!

I've been running a Futaba 8J for a couple seasons now and absolutely love it. Dead reliable for heat racing/SAWs/2-laps in FE/gas/nitro boats. Most of my boats are all carbon, so not very radio friendly. Lots of model memory (20). Spare assignable knob and trim switches for mixture if needed. Inexpensive receivers (R2006GS $29.95 @ tower).

The 6J would be a good option for a bit less money (15 model memory)

Just my .02

I am sure you dont need a memory of 15 i am running the 3pmx which i love and at a good price the 3pk is great also just stay with the futaba 2.4 you be happy i switched from JR and i wont go back

thanks guys

i see the faast are a bit more then a fhss. the savings with a fhss would/can pay for a receiver or two.

are the fast that much worth it?

In my 40 years of R/C..I started with FUTABA...tried a others....Futaba is where I remain. 4PLS is a great radio! But I do love the 4PK-R.

I use a Hitec Aggressor SRX Pro. Been using Hitec on the surface and Air for years. Never a problem.

futaba fasst 2.4

carbon fiber surrounding the radiobox, leave the antenna in the radiobox, tape it up.....works without issues

best thing that happened to rc in my lifetime

thanks guys

I guess everyone missed that you are looking for a stick radio.

I've run both and never had range issues with either. I have no reservations running either system in any model I own regardless of value. Both systems just work.

When we stopped getting the 3vcs here in the US, those of us who prefer stick radios had to start looking for options if we wanted a knob for 3rd channel mixture.

New radios from the Futaba line: 6J, 8J for FHSS. 7C for FASST.

If you don't mind running mixture control on a digital trim switch, the 3GR running the FASST surface receivers.

Peter I have a futaba 6 that takes a module and I run the xtreme radio systems module with their recievers... great radio system...the jet guys use this system quite reliable...

thanks for all the suggestions

<~~ counting my nickels in da jar for a fast radio

unfortunately, the vet took $500 from me last week(pooch is fine).

finally, a few weeks ago i got a new radio.
