Which would be there better engine, getting parts, working on it and so on. A CMB BETA EVO or a Nova Rossi Keep this is inboard

I have never run a Nova so can't say much about it. But the BETA EVO is very easy to work on and run like stink right out of the box. Thy are also honing the cylinders now I am told. The last 2 I built up for Julian where smooth as glass right out of the box. very little break in needed.

You can also retro fit a MAC slanted back door to it if need be just bolt it on and go........................

It's a loaded question as everyone has different opinions as to what they like. It depends on what size engine also as in the larger diplcements there is not much choce and outboards there is not any for stock outboards. Mod outboard is a different story. I am sure you will get lots of different opinions.

Robert if it is any help I am a Chevy guy that drives a 2008 Ford F350 at work and it has never broke in 285000 miles so far.............................

The Keep is a neat design. One piece block so bearing aliment is good. A PTO with two bearings the same size as the crank. So you've got four large bearings in a row with no alignment issues.

I sent mine to Speedmaster for mounts, the hole spacing was off from what he had for the older motors. I guess I was the to get a predrilled mount from them. The mount ended up being .040 wide on each side two make it between 4" rails. Heads up.

I now have about two quarts through it on a bench stand with a prop for a load and water syphoning through it. I saw a little over 22k rpm and everything was very smooth.

The only thing I don't care for are the machine screws on the head. You really should use a custom machined screwdriver like you would use for a firearm, which I don't have. Other tools for bearing maintenance are available.

Rookie 2 cents from the peanut gallery.

I get the black head beta 21 from Stu and 4 tanks fuel and she was ready to rock and roll. The machine work is side is great and the piston and sleeve fit is right on form the factory.I have a Nova Rossi DD 21 in my sport 20 and every time i run it i have to tighten all the screws. It so out of balance. That's my 002 cents

sure wish I had that kind of luck with my 1990 ford Taurus automatic trans tranny went bad with less than 30000 mi and still under factory warranty , ford wanted $100 just to look at it and would not or could not fix it , you.ll never see a ford in my drive way

Bob the problem is the dealers not Ford, Ford has nothing to do with what dealerships do, sorry your having problems

that dealership did go out of business but ford did have a big time problem with their trannys at that time ,

Dave, Thats about the biggest bunch of crock I have ever read. All I can say is wow!!! You ever wonder why this engine (and other variations of this engine) owns sooo many world records? Unbelieveable public post. Someone made a negative public post about your new meter and you went ballistic on them. Then I read this post. Talk about double-standards. At the cost of 002 cents, someone overpaid. My advice was free. Oh well, play on.....

Well I just purchased my first CMB and all I can say for this particular engine is what a heap of ****!(the man that sold it to me is helpful! Was fantastic to deal with! Done me a great deal! And is now trying to sort it out.) But the casting is crap! The audible clunk and free play of piston when transitioning over TDC is worrying. I think it has a Fukedo Fermi Spinotto (that's Italian!) As you need to read Italian to check the minimal information that you get! Then did I mention it won't start. Because I'm a newbie to gas (but played with Nitro 35 year's) this engine's had the effect of having an item that I don't trust! I once had a woman that I was in the same boat with. So I just threw her in the lake!!lol on a side note she didn't have a spare parts list written for her in Italian.
