I thought i would ask whats the best procedure for running in a new marine nitro 21 3.5cc engine?(or any Nitro marine engine)I have always run engines in with the heat cycling method in a hudy test bench! With the prop thats included with hudy test bench! But i would like to know who may know a trick or 2 i run a little water pump for circulating water(this may not even be required? But i do it) i check the temp with a temp gun! Then return the piston to bdc let cool and then run again! Any tips from the Intlwaters captain's would be a great help thanks

I don't have anything more to suggest. I break my 21 engines in by running them in a boat. But, if what you are doing is working for you it's a lot easier than loading up everything needed to run on the water.

I run my new engines in on the bench. Keep it running rich until it gets hot.

Let the engine cool off and run it again, over and over until I have a few tanks through it.

Thanks Jerry and Al i appreciate your help! And quick replies there's a lot of years of knowledge here!!
