I just finnished building a hawk 7.5 with a new Mac 45 in it. What is the best way to break in this engine. I have byron 45% nitro fuel for it. I added 2oz of castor to the gallon of fuel.

What glow plug should I use in this engine? I know Mccoy 9 is probably the best, but I haven't been able to find any. Are there any good substitutes? I have a Prather 245 prop on it right now. Will this prop be acceptable for this boat? Thanks in advance. Mike

the mac's require very little break in. just run it very rich on the first run. then over the next 3-4 runs lean it out. by 4-5 runs it will be broke in.

That 245 may be a tad big for a new mac. They like to rev. Try a 240 untill everything is set-up,pipe,needle,ride,etc and then work larger. The 240 will rev more and most likely go as fast as the 245 anyway.
