If you live in the Seattle area please keep an eye out for my 1982 Gilmore Special 1/8 Scale Unlimited Hydroplane that was stolen today at our National event.

The boat was on the back seat of my friends car and entry was gained by breaking the rear window. All his tool box and radio equipment was stolen also.

The police were called and local RC dealers were notified as well as pawn shops. One pawn dealer indicated that all sales are typically reported to police.

This was a broad daylight theft from a pretty busy park, (Twin Lakes, Marysville)

If you hear anything I may be contacted through this site and others.

Thanks,

Bill Brandt

This is just SAD !!!! We all need to make it a personal mission to recover this boat-

I HATE a thief , when you steal from one of us, you have stolen from all of us, lets make this right....................

Sorry to hear i hate those kind of people always love it when i see them walking through the store in handcuffs, its almost like we need alarms on our boats

No news. You know it's sad I lost a boat. A friend of mne was transporting it for me at the last minute. I had sold a boat earlier in the week that I intended to run in 1/6 scale gas. The organizers said if I wanted to enter the FE 1/8 scale a few days later there was room. I contacted my buddy back in the Tri Cities where I live and asked him to grab it since he was coming to race his nitro 1/8 scale. He had his boat in his trunk. BUT they stole his two tool boxes, radio and gear plus his starter gear. Losing a boat sucks but losing tools and specialty items you've acquired over years of racing is really the pits. I feel badly for him.
