hey got a CMB from Paul Jackson the flywheel has been cut down.Is this an advantage as is less weight or is the stock flywheel better as it is a little heavier to carry thru the fire stroke?

Reducing the flywheel at the open end reduces overall diameter as well as total weight.
Less diameter = more RPM, up to the point when the weight and diameter become too small.
Somebody might have the engineering or physics formula involved.

sometimes just to get clearance for the belt between the back of the flywheel and bottom of the boat.
