The Capitol RC Model Boat Club will be hosting District 12 Race #2 the weekend of June 4-5 at our club pond in Centreville, VA. Gas, Nitro, Electric,Tunnels...we race it all. Last chance to dial in your boats and practice before Gas Nats later in the month and Nitro Nats in July. Open Water Friday June 3 noon to 6 pm. We'll have lunch available both race days. We strve to make our race a little better each year. Over the winter we purchased a bigger retrieval boat with a more powerful motor to get your boats back to the dock quicker and safer. Hi Mike ,

Can I park on RV at the site?

Thanx Nails

Hi Bob, We've let Ray Hotchkin park his camper on site only on Sunday because he checked out of the camp ground in the morning. It's on the small size though and I don't think I want to allow anything larger that would raise a red flag to the pond management as camping is not permitted. Plus with all the rain this past month, the grounds are soft and getting a large vehicle in and out of the site would be a concern. Hope you can make it. We always enjoy your company. Even when you tell us the Caps are chokers. LOL

Okay folks, The Gas Clash was a rousing success thanks to the hard work of Danny, Ray, Amanda and the rest of the Delmarva crew. It's time to light the nitro motors back up in D-12. We have less than three week before D12 race #2 in Centreville, VA. We're going to change things up for lunch this year. We're going to have a food truck stop by for lunch. They specialize in gourmet quesadillas. Price point will be roughly 7-10 bucks and the vendor does take credit/debit cards. We still plan on burgers and dogs for less adventurous pallets. Thanks to Mike F for the great idea.

On the food truck it will be dilla of your choice bag of chips and soda for 10 bucks .the club will be doing burgers and dogs for those less frisky but i really ask for you to buy from the truck .the chef has been on America's Top chef's and the food is excellent plus it needs to be worth his while so he comes back for years to come

Folks, I had the initial entry fee wrong on RC Racing Events. After three years using the site, you would think I'd get it right.. Anyway for those of you that have signed up for our race and have not paid yet, knock $10 off your entry fee total. Everyone's totals have been corrected on RC Racing events. The two that have paid in advance will be issued the appropriate refund. Thanks!

Okay folks. One week until registration closes and entries are coming in at a lethargic rate. I know folks in the district have a tendency to wait the last second but we've reached a new low, I don't know if it's the weather, the schedule or me. The club shells out about $800 to hold the race. Let's get those entries in if you want this race to happen. The next district race isn't until the end of August.

As anticipated, entries have picked the past couple of days. Hoping for another dozen. The long term forecast is looking pretty good so far. We are a go but could use some more tunnels!! We also only have one entry for Stock Gas. Never thought I'd see the day when we would have more entries in JS/CB than Stock Gas...

I switched over from Offshore to Gas Rigger. I always enjoy running side by side with Mr. Finch.

Thanx Charles (*¿*)

Well we've doubled the number of entries in five days. Thank you guys!!! We should end up with over 90. Everyone please double check your entries and let me know if you have any additions, changes or corrections. I'll be printing out heat sheets on Wednesday evening. Turn out will be a little lighter than normal and I know everyone has had a hard time getting test time in this spring so I want everyone to get as much stick time as possible. We will run classes that have two entries. Right now that's only one or two extra classes. Most of the heavy rains from Bonnie have stayed east of RT 95 so we're hoping the grounds will firm up during the week. Weekend weather looks pretty good except for a chance of showers on Friday. Temps should top out in the low to mid 80's.

We could use some D12 Stock Gasers?? What's up with only two entries? That's usually the top gas class in the district...

The predicted rain held off and a cool breeze kept things comfortable. I actually came home refreshed rather than wore out. An enjoyable weekend of racing!
