What servo would you guys recommend for a 90 Hydro? My old 60/80 boat had a HS 645 mg. Not sure if that'll be enough for the 90 boat. Any recommendations? I'd like to stick with the hitec servos. I'm thinking of the 7 series servos maybe? Thanks in advance,

Larry Jr.

I would not run a hitec is anything, Savox 1256tg 277 oz of torque and the price is not bad also. IMO

Thanks Rene. I've looked that servo up with great reviews. I'll get a few t9 throw in my trucks too. Thank you.

Yup hook it up to a Life pack 6.6 volts, Never have to worry.. I run them in everything even 21 tunnels..

And if you want a little more torque try the Savox 1230SG 499.9 oz of torque out of a standard size servo for $69.95

Why not? Hitec is very dependable reliable and has great customer service..

Larry we run the hitec 7954sh and 5765mh been running both of these for the past few seasons..

I'm running the 1231 Savox in my New RR 67 seems to be fine . The waterproof Hitec series has been the best for me. If you need repairs no questions asked service is the great. My friend has recently had 2 waterproof savox servo's go bad, I'm using the same servos and had no problems. The point is you can have issues with any of the servo's out there. Check your linkage trim to be sure there's no binding or overriding the end points which will burn up any quality servo.

I had very bad luck with Hitec lots of failures. If they work good for you so be it ,just not me. So I switched to Savox all great now.

I just want to say Savox customer support is just as good as Hitec if not better. Not that I had to use it though. Cause they normally dont fail..

Didn't want to start an argument. I have never had a Hitec servo fail, so I don't have a bad thing to say about em. The numbers sure are good on the Savox. I'm open to try different options. Thanks again fellas.

LOL...I have used hitec for years in planes, boats, cars you name it. Very good equipment and the 5646 runs on 2s lipos...Savox??? Nope

Hey John, put in the new 500 1230sg for rudder in my F rigger, good luck trying to hold the rudder while U turn the steering wheel, will rip your hand off, super strong, very smooth, I have a servo tester I built about 18 years ago, just hooked it to 12 volt motorcycle battery, mounted into a 1/4 inch aluminum servo holder, bolted to 2/4 side was, used metal arm, ran a metal 3/16 threaded rod down

to a, 5 1/4 pound of pie steel, hanging 4 inches of the floor, servo tester has 3 speeds, slow, medium fast and high, which moves the arm from end to end in 1 second. I just wanted to test the longevity of the servo so I set the servo tester on medium, pushed the batter switch, and watched that servo sling the 5 pound ball, back and forth, for 1 1/2 hour with out stopping, once or missing a lite. The diode lites, lite up individually as the servo goes from one end, to the other end. I finally got tired of watching the back and forth, well have to try it in the white whale soon, maybe it will tame it down some. John I made it back on IW, Yaaaahooooo.
