Site Admins for adding new IW members

HI Everyone,

I do not know who all is a site admin, but I wanted to pass something on that I have been getting asked a LOT over the last couple years. I have people from all over that call, or meet them on linkedin, etc, and I recommend them to IW or other sites depending on their interests in our hobby (Nitro, gas, FE, etc.), but one constant that has come up, is I will get a reply after a couple weeks to a month that they tried to join IW, but never got a confirmation to be able to join. I am not complaining, just wanting to let everyone that handles this to please be on the look out. These guys may be some of the future of our hobby, and need direction, the kind of direction this site provides! Fresh faces, some people like the guy that contacted me today, Paul, who is trying to get back in the hobby after a 20 year hiatus. Of course, I have a want to see new faces due to the part of the hobby I am involved in, but also, the guys I have spoken with all seem like good people that might make this site better. I guess I am just asking to try and check on this as much as possible. I know we all have other things going on, but it's a great thing to see new interest and members, because I have noticed this site, as well as other sites, over the last 7-8 years has had a lot of people leave the hobby due to various reasons. Thanks so much, and if there is anything I can do to help with this, please let me know! Or, if there is something I need to relay to them, let me know that as Its between 10-20 people a year. "In the meantime, I have been trying to become a member of “Intlwaters”, but once I registered, I never received confirmation from the site admin of an approval. I attempted to register twice of 3 months and still haven’t received anything. I also tried to email the site admin, but received an undeliverable message. Do you have someone who you can contact on my behalf to register my account? Thanks in advance!!"

Same here Mike, my son tried to join but never heard anything back.

Wouldn't be surprised if the issue is related to the email issue that many of us have.

That vast majority of the times these "problems" are created by people not following directions when signing up. The number one by far is not using your real name as your display name, this will result in the new "account" getting deleted every time. Going back and checking there were 2 "Pauls" that recently joined, Paul Otto and Paul Carpenito both have which have been approved now for 5 or 6 days. Also signing up does not mean instant access as we have to go through these one by one due to fake spammer accounts. Not unusual to delete or ban 5 or 6 account and or i.p.'s for every legitimate one. And lastly Tom and I don't spend 24/7 watching for new members, it gets checked every couple days. In this world of what's now "instant gratification" there are some things that don't work that way............ I/W is one of them. Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding in how it works.

Yes he has been approved. If he's having issues it's on his end-

Hi All

Paul Otto here and I can say my account was approved and I have been able to access the site with no issues.
